Smart Tips on HD Television Speakers

June 29th, 2008

If you replace your TV speakers with an exclusive speaker system, you would be surprised at the improvement of sound quality and the overall audio experience. If you will only be watching soaps on it you may not care so much, but anyone that watches films, DVD’s, blu-ray and even gamers should consider it as an option. Of course most good TVs have built-in speakers but nothing compares to a full surround audio system. A common reason to buy an HD Television set, aside from the current mass marketing, is after viewing a friends or relatives new set.

Before you hurry to buy a HD television set, ensure that you know what you are looking for and what could be your budget for the item. Be prepared to spend 10 percent of the TV price on cabling for the speakers in case you are contemplating to buy or already have surround sound speakers. External speakers will also require a decent amplifier if you want the best from them. This is an additional cost running into hundreds or even thousands and cannot be explained in one single article.

Several aspects govern the world of speakers and there are several types available – you are considering the ratio of 5:1 and above which are 5 speakers to one sub-woofer. The speakers consist of one centre speaker, a left and right “surround” speaker - these typically sit at the far, front corners from the seat and a left and right rear speaker. While each of these are independent but their positioning have to done in such a way that the seating place is in the center. You can configure the av receivers and amplifiers to optimize the volume output and place the speaker accordingly.

The basic function of a sub-woofer is to give the movie sound a real-life feel so having one would improve your overall movie viewing experience. It can lend life to sound and we all know this when we watch movies in cinema halls. In addition, since the deep-bass frequencies reproduced by the sub-woofers are non-directional (as frequencies that are at or below the threshold of hearing). It is difficult to decipher the source of the sound, so when there is an earthquake we feel that it is happening al around us.

While the position of the sub woofer is just about anywhere in the room but to get optimum output, you have to consider the size of the room, the type of flooring it has, the furnishing fabrics and the construction of the wall. Usually the perfect placement of the sub woofer is in the front portion of the room, to the right of left of the main speakers. Oftentimes it is easier and less expensive to have speakers that have been previously owned. There are many systems available and it will depend on your budget in the end but look out for a set of Canton movie CD-1 (now referred to as CD-101) which offer excellent value for money.

Puppy Pups Parties Are for the Dogs

June 23rd, 2008

Ever realize that your dog is a member of the family? Why not throw your favorite Puppy Pup a birthday party to remember.

The guest list for your Puppy Pup’s party should be friends of yours who have dogs or are dog lovers. A great location for this party is a local park where all dogs will have plenty of room to run around to sniff and play with each other. It may be a good idea to have dogs who have never meet have a meet and greet before the festivities begin.

Dogs in hats are always funny so make sure that your Puppy Pup’s party includes accessories for the guests. While the dogs may only wear them for a limited amount of time, this is a great opportunity for photos to be taken and shared after the party.

Snacks for your Puppy Pup’s party should be geared toward the pet owners as well as the dogs themselves. Have snack available on hand as well as water bowls available for the thirsty dogs. Also provide jerky treats for the dogs and encourage owners to bring their dogs favorite treats.

A great game to play at a Puppy Pup’s party with the dogs is catch. Have each of the dogs on a leash with their owners holding tight. Take turns releasing a dog and throwing them a ball. You can judge on time, catch-ability and effort. It’s fun to see which dogs catch and which dogs can’t!
